FEE TYPES & RATES

Calendar Pages

Fixed Monthly Fees

Fixed monthly fee clients pay a fixed amount every month for the work done on their case. The fixed rate covers all work done on the client’s case by the attorney and any non-attorney staff during that month.  It does not cover litigation costs or expenses paid to other people outside of the firm.  This arrangement helps clients by providing a predictable cost for the firm's litigation services.

Most individual clients can expect their fixed fee to cost between $1,500 and $2,500 per month. â€‹Most businesses can expect to their fixed fee to cost between $2,000 and $4,000 per month.

IMPORTANT FEE & RATE INFORMATION

Not all cases or clients will qualify for every fee option. Factors considered in determining eligibility and rate amounts include (but are not limited to):

  • the case type and complexity;

  • the venue’s (courthouse) location;

  • the amount of travel required (if any);

  • the amount of time needed to represent the client;

  • the number of parties in a case; and

  • the amount of firm resources required to represent the client adequately.

The firm's rates are reviewed periodically and may change during the course of a case.  Specific information about the rate and how potential rate changes are handled are included in every representation agreement.  Those terms will always govern the payment, fee change, and reimbursement practices for a case.

While prospective clients may request a certain fee type or specific rate, eligibility for a specific rate or fee arrangement is determined by the firm in its sole discretion.

The firm reserves the right to request advanced fees from clients and to impose penalties for non-payment or late payment of fees.  The firm also reserves the right to withdraw from a case if a client fails to make timely payments.

State ethics rules require the firm to bill third-party charges (such as court reporter charges, court fees, and expert witness bills) to the client.   Charges from third-parties are billed in addition to the fees charged for attorney and non-attorney work performed by the firm.
